Day 14- Driving into Salt Lake City!

Day 14: The Salt Flats

Good morning everybody! Sneezy's here, back at it again with another high quality blog. Today we woke up so freezing cold I think a few of us may have actually turned into ice cubes. We all rushed to get packed so we could get out of the cold and on to the warm busses and vans. We left the park and started heading for Utah at about 8 a.m. On the way out of the park, we saw the sun slowly rising over the mountains lightly dusted with snow which was a magnificent site to see.

We had breakfast of blueberry, chocolate chip, banana nut, or lemon popey seed muffins on the bus and vans. We traveled into Nevada again in order to reach Utah.  While in Nevada, we rode through more of its beautiful deserts.  Right before we got to Utah, we had a tire blow out on one of the van’s trailers and that was just the start of our vehicle problems. We fixed the flat tire and had to walk a half mile back to find the finder that was thrown off by the exploding tire. Don't worry, Heather had control and everyone was safe. Once we got back on the road, we once again had a traveling lunch of gourmet pizza wraps.

This tire is toast!

Making fun out of a difficult and stressful situation.

We finally made it to Utah and the salt flats “which are surprisingly tasty.” When we got out of the bus and vans at the salt flats we had to use port-a-pottys as bathrooms; many said “they smelled awful.” Then, we stepped out on to the salt flats with our port-a-potty feet to lick the salt on the ground and looking back on that now that might not have been such a good idea. The ground was so white with salt a few of us jokingly asked if it had snowed. When we got back on the bus and vans, our auto problems continued.   As we started down the road, the bus started having a few issues.  We had to pull over thirteen times and apparently it was only a problem with the muffler sensor. But no worries, they’re sending us a new bus in the morning from Colorado. What a day!

Finally making it to the Salt Flats! It was a little salty....

We finally made it to Deseret Peak Complex where we are staying the night. We are having a late dinner of alfredo, salad, and applesauce. Tomorrow we get to sleep in and heading off to Salt Lake City!

Goodnight everybody! Xoxo, Gossip Girl.. uhhhh, we mean Sneezy’s J
