Day 10: LA and Hollywood

Hey!! This is the world’s best bloggers (aka the sleepy’s), recapping another fabulous day! Starting the day wasn’t as tough as usual because we got to sleep in until 6! We started off the day by only briefly getting to see the Hollywood Bowl, where many famous people perform. We only got to drive by it, because it was closed for a concert today.

Next, we headed to see the Hollywood Walk of Stars at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre. There, we continued the annual tradition of TWB messing with the tourists! If you are not familiar with this, TWB masks one of our counselors as a celebrity. THE Logan Watts took the role as a rising country music star. In order to prepare for this stunt, our group held screaming auditions to see who could convince the tourists that Logan was the real deal! Many tourists fell for it, asking for autographs, taking selfies, and pushing other TWB participants out of the way.

Right next to the Theatre, we went searching for some cool souvenirs. Many of us got wacky stickers or t-shirts, while others got hats and things for their friends back home!

Our next stop today was the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA). As we walked, we took in the beautiful scenery on campus. The clan enjoyed a gourmet lunch of PB&J prepared by the bashful’s, and laughed over confusing mindgames.

Next, most of us made our way to the UCLA bookstore in hopes of contacting family and friends through available computers, and purchasing UCLA souvenirs.

We met at 2:00 to hear from a past TWB participant hear about her experiences as a UCLA. She answered many questions about the trip, college, and handling the distance from home.

After another ‘two hour drive’ we arrived at El Capitan, our home for tonight. When we arrived at the camp site by the Pacific, we sat and sang and roasted s'mores before we settled into our beds with the sound of ocean waves.
